This past weekend my family and I had a wonderful time celebrating one of my favorite holidays – the Fourth of July. As I reflect upon the meaning behind this day, I feel immensely grateful for all the freedoms we are afforded as Americans. Among these is our individual financial freedom, an independence the Enable Savings Plan Alabama community can now achieve.
Before the passage of the ABLE Act in 2014 – which is the reason Enable Alabama exists today – individuals with disabilities were not able to save more than $2,000 in assets without compromising their access to resource-based benefits like SNAP and Medicaid. Thankfully as a result of this legislation, financial independence has now become an attainable reality for Alabamians with disabilities.
Enable Alabama is a strong advocate for the right to financial independence and offers its tax advantaged savings plan that provides a variety of investment options and tools to help aid our Account Owners in their savings journey. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to increase our footprint throughout Alabama, and form so many impactful relationships within the disability community.
While are weathering many unprecedented challenges, I am very proud of every individual in our community who has come together to support and uplift one another. Enable Alabama continuously works to ensure everyone has access to financial stability and independence – a freedom I am proud to celebrate each day. From my family to yours, I wish you and yours a safe and healthy rest of your summer.
